Hi everyone. havent ever posted a new topic in a forum before, but here goes. After spending all afternoon filtering through some very interesting topics and posts, I´ve been unable to find the answer to my question, which is this........

Can anybody tell me what the fee for the renewal of my residencia is but most of all WHERE does one pay it, I know it has to be paid into a bank account prior to handing over all the neccesary documents (they wont accept cash, or at least they didnt in previous years) I have all my papers including certificado de empadronamiento, If there is any one out there who has the official list of documents, does it mention the payment?

Thank you in advance

p.s Keep on posting its a great site and helping many

Hi! I´m an Australian Citizen, have been travelling in and out of mostly Spain - EU and UK for 5 months. My dream to stay, work and live here long term - obviously no easy way to do this legally when you are non eu! Is there any way possible?! I have a few items for any advice or feedback…

1. Working for UK Company via Freelance?
Originally I thought I´d find a way to work legally via some sort of skilled sponsorship but doing research seems this is a long road of documentation etc and work hard to come by etc. Ive been lucky to come across an opportunity to freelance for a UK company with a remote office in Madrid. All great, but my 90 days is about to expire, is there a way I can stay longer than the 90 days without being illegal if I am under freelance to UK company?

If the UK company sponsored me would I be able to stay within Spain under EU rights?

2). 90 Day Passport Control
Have been stamped in and out of Barcelona 4 times, and travelled in and out of UK (London, Ireland), EU (Finland, Holland, Germany)and NON EU (Croatia). My passport has so many stamps all over the place so I´m wandering if I left over the 90 days would they really would go through with a fine tooth comb and work out my time in and out of the EU? I´ve only ever seen them open it, stamp it and let me through with no scrutiny. Any feedback on this?

3) If I want to apply for the Shengen Visa tourist extension for 90 days can I do this whilst I´m in Spain or do I need to leave back to Oz and apply via spanish consulate there?

Much appreciated!

Hello,
I have been living and working in Spain for one year and have re-applied for my work and residency permission, but it was declined a week ago. My boss and I have signed new contracts etc, but it could take up to 3 months to know the results.
My MASSIVE problem is that I had planned to visit friends in the US for Xmas, and now I don’t know if I can re-enter Spain, as now, I have no right to work or live here. I can try getting back as a tourist, but I don’t know if it will work, and I want to be certain.
Does anyone know if there is a document somewhere in the labyrinth of the Spanish Government that can help me return? Or should I just cancel the flight and not leave? I’m really torn up and I have one week to make a decision. Please help me!!!
Thank you,
Ainz

My husband and I are planning on flying into a country other than Spain and traveling around Europe for 1 months to 3 months. We plan to then end our traveling and settle down in Spain for the summer and work there at a place that pays cash. We hope to stay in spain for at least 6-8 months. I am curious what type of visa I should get with these travel/illegal work plans.

We really want to stay in Spain as a perminant resident and hope to gain residency at some point down the line.

We are confused about the type of visa needed due to the length of time we plan to spend in other countries before getting to spain, and then the infinite amount of time we would like to stay in spain for.

please voice feedback regarding our plan. thanks!

Hi and thanks for this forum!

I work for a small company in the US, who has been contracted by another company that will be doing a job in Spain. I would be there for about 90 days as my part in the job, and I am totally confused as to what I need for a Visa or work permit. I don’t want to live there - we are renting a little place not far from the job.
How do I get some sort of permit?
Thank you very much for any help.

I am a resident and citizen of India.

I am considering a job offer with a Spanish company (S.L. Limited Liability) that is planning to setup an offshore development company (ODC) in India. This ODC would be owned and operated by another Indian company and after reaching a critical mass will be transferred to the spanish company who at that time will have a legal entity.

I am interested to see the possibility by which I can be an employee of the spanish company, but operate in India with requirement to travel to spain on a periodic basis.

In essence, I would like to be employed by the spanish company till such time that it has a legal presence in India.

Hi Guys,

Hope this is not too confusing, any help would be greatly appreciated…

I am thinking of moving to Spain this summer for a maximum of 5 months, and would really like to try to abide by the system and do everything possible to be legal. I am self employed in the UK and am also the director of a registered UK ltd company.

I am basically wanting to work as an aerobics instructor and personal trainer as “autonomo” in Spain, to avoid all the time consuming, expensive paperwork involved with setting up a Spanish company. I will be needing to employee a couple of other staff, can i do this as a sole trader? Is it possible for me to either set up a second UK ltd company and then work in Spain for 5 months return to the UK and have my UK accountant work out my tax. Or do I have to pay taxes in Spain for the duration of my work. It seems like a very long winded process for 5 months work???

Obviously I want to do the bare minimum in order to be legal to keep set up costs to a minimum.

I’ve have also heard that if you pay more than 3,500 euros into a Spanish bank account, and you are not Spanish… the bank are to inform Spanish authority to try to prevent illegal working and money laundering. Is this true? I hope to earn a larger sum than this and would therefore need to be legal in order to transport profits back to the UK??? As i don’t think UK customs would take too kindly to me waltzing through security with 10K in cash in a briefcase.

Am i right in thinking that as an EU citizen, i can enter Spain and can reside/ work there for 90 days without informing any Spanish authority of my self employment, and then if i intend to stay for MORE than 90 days I would need to apply for residency permit and a NIE number, and register my self as autonomo?

I will be earning my income in Spain but paying outgoings both in Spain and at home in the UK as it will cost me a bit to set up before the move, and all marketing materials will be shipped out to Spain from the UK. I understand that if i was to pay tax in Spain i wouldn’t also have to pay tax in the UK. But how does it work if you are earning in one country and paying out expenses in another? Confusing or what!!!

Also I pay for an accountant in the UK, so it would be nice if i didn’t have to hire the services of a Spanish accountant also.

How would it work for example if I was an English company touring in Spain for a few months, like a band for example? Could this maybe be a way round the system?

I also read on this site that if you work for a non Spanish company you are not necessarily required to register as autonomo and pay taxes, is this correct? If i can get away with this that would be amazing!!!

I also have a million more questions, but these are the most important ones at this point.

Thanks to anyone who can help me, and sorry this email is sooo long.

Hello,

I’m a U.S. citizen, and it’s been a long-time dream of mine to teach English in Spain. I’ve recently graduated with my TESOL certificate, and as of this weekend, I have 2 job offers: one is from an Academy in Spain, and the other is from a Hagwon school in South Korea.

Please offer your feedback:::
The BIG DRAWBACK to the job offer in Spain is that they need someone urgently. This is fine for my schedule, but in order to get a work visa or work permit, the school said in the past it’s taken them about 4 months to get. It’s my understanding this all has to be done in person, so it’s not as though I could start the process while still here, and then pick up my visa there. The school explained why they need someone urgently, and they do have one American there right now who is legal - that’s the person it took from April - August to get the Visa for).

The golden questions:
* What is the chance of authorities finding me?
* What is the least and worst penalty if caught? For me? For the shool? (would I be fined, deported, imprisoned)
* Do you know anyone who has done this successfully?
* Do you know anyone who has done this unsuccessfully? Or, have you heard any factual stories?

Thank you for your time and feedback!
All my best,

I want everyone that is a teacher or planning to be a teacher about TEFL INTL. TEFL INTL is not what is advertised. I was in one of the courses and let me tell you it is truly a scam. I have read up on them and they claim that all the instructors are college educated and have at least five years of teaching. Our instructors did not have this and openly admitted it. The teacher was often corrected in class by the students. The one instructor has no knowledge of grammar and said you don’t need to know grammar. TEFL INTL claims to be the same school all over the world but the material are not the same from center to center. The trainers we had had no formal training by TI. The course was just terrible. To top it off we were not allowed to take the course with the visa we had. The truth is you need a student visa. The problem is that in many countries you have to be a real school to issue a student visa. You cannot take this course on a tourist visa in most countries. My friend has a worse sitiuation he is in one of the China speicial projects. This is completely illegal. They make my friend work on a tourist via which is 100% illegal and if they don’t work they call the cops and throw them out of the housing. We went to the China PSB and they told us to leave or be thrown out for working illegally in china and it is not the chinese citizens job to babysit us it is our job to watch our own backs. They did say it was completely illegal for a company to take a teachers salary and that TEFL INTL who is in shanghai, Zhuhai and Beijing to issue a cert in china. So they are breaking the law and we get in trouble if something happens. Please don’t take my word for it you can email them and ask them email the china PSB. Look at the visa entry and exit rules.

This is crazy post is TEFL INTL like this in spain
