Hi everyone!

I’m currently living in Ireland and will be moving to Madrid in April to open a new branch of my current business. I would like to make new friends and contacts and also maybe get some advice from any Irish people living in Madrid at the moment.

This won’t be my first time living in Spain but it is a different situation. The last time I was living in Zaragoza on Erasmus as part of my college degree so I had a lot of help from my university in finding accomodation and also a social group.

Hopefully people on here will be able to help me find my way.

Hope to hear from some of ye soon

Hello, I’m looking into potential TEFL programs in Spain; can anyone tell me what the job climate is there? I know unemployment is around 23% or something ridiculous like that…I’m debating whether to invest in moving. Are people finding TEFL jobs in Spain right now? Appreciate any feedback/experience you have to offer.

Hi all!!

I’m currently living in Granada. Moved here from Norway to be with my boyfriend. I will stay until may and in the meantime it would be nice to make some new friends. I’m learning español, but it’s currently not very impressive. What I miss is a girlfriend to go shopping with and going to the hairdressers etc. Strangely my boyfriend doesn’t want to do these things with me.

But even if you’re not at girl (I’ll try to forgive you), you can send me a message. Always nice to meet new people. And if anyone has any tips on how to get my smartphone working here it would be much appreciated. I just need data. Don’t care to much about the rest.

So! How is everyone?! Say hello

Hi,

As I am writing this I am probably moving to Spain in about 1.5 months…. (end of Oct)

If any of you would be so kind to help me find my way that would be wonderful.

I have been living in the UK for about 10 years but I am originally from Scandinavia.

I would really like help with:
- what areas are nice to live in? I don’t need centre, in fact I probably prefer outskirts. I like safe and nice areas. About 10-15 min drive from the centre would be ideal. Would be useful to be living in Este or San Pablo (think that is the area next to Este). Anyway, I have heard mixed reports about Este… Please help. I am looking for an apartment which comes with a pool, otherwise this viking will probably melt come March!
- What things to consider when renting an apartment?
- moving there? Companies, vans etc. What is the most affordable options out there..?

- What are the best things about Sevilla in your opinion?

- Any other useful tips?

Looking forward to hearing from you someone, or two.. smile

Anette

Hey there,I’m an argentinian american just arrived fresh and omewhat jettisoned to the Valencian capitol.
My story is a really long and bizarre one but suffice it to say is I would like to find a place to work and/or rent.
For the next week I do have a place to stay but will have to eventually vacate and to be honest I don t like depending much on charity so it d be awesome if I could start putting a foot on and getting to know people who have been where I am right now.
If it helps, although my accent is overbearingly argentinian porteño,I fancy myself and have indeed worked before as a translator/interpreter as well as occasionally moonshined as an english teacher back in the day.
My last work back in Argentina was free lance researching and all that inflated sounding stuff.

Anyhos pleased to be here and bother you peeps!
