Is this really true? I cannot belive it (well I can, but I don’t like to point the finger.) I know bull fighting is on the list of cruel sports, but this is beyond belief! Likewise, I read of another ‘festival/tradition’ (sorry, don’t have the name of the town to hand), but a goat is thrown from the very high church tower annually. If it survives it is then drowned in the river. STOP THIS MADNESS!

Hi folks,

I’m living in Seville this year (been here about a month now) and my girlfriend’s getting here this coming weekend. She’s only just started learning Spanish so we were hoping to find an English-speaking church in/around the Seville area for the time being. If anyone knows of any it would be a huge help to us, they’re not particularly well advertised online but I can’t imagine that in a city of this size with so many foreigners there’s not at least something along those lines.

Much appreciated to all of you!

I am coming down in a couple of weeks to the south to have a taster of what it’s like. I have thought of either the Orgiva or Tarifa areas as they seem to have a community of people that are conscious of raising their awareness. Plus it doesn´t seem so over built, I´m a kind of off the grid kind of gal.

If there is anyone that knows of anything to rent please can you advise. I will be looking for somewhere very moderately priced that is sufficient for one mature lady that is a non smoker and passed the partying years. Ideally not on an urbanization but preferably something with charm, views, peaceful and has very little around perhaps out on the edge somewhere but within walking distance to a bus stop that can get me to shops.

I would like to meet like minded people so thought to create a self help book club for a small group that would last around 2 months so I’m looking to stay a couple of months.

There are so many of us doing internal work which at times doesn’t seem to progress at the rate we desire, or worse, appears to be at a standstill. Although therapists are masters at supporting and helping, ultimately it is our responsibility to do the work ourselves if we want to fully integrate into a sense of peace and completion.

While first reading the self help book I’d like to use I said to myself yeah, yeah I know all that and just skipped lightly thru the exercises. It ‘s a very simple book called Dark Side of the Light Chasers but experience tells me it’s the simplest things that are the hardest to do and not to under estimate the power of this book. I realised just knowing everything as a concept didn’t mean I’d actually achieved the work, I needed to put more physical energy into it and for that I needed help with discipline so decided to hold a small book club using the same book during my frequent winters to Guatemala. It went great for everyone and helped us enormously in our inner journeys and gave us the ideal space to do the work. Nobody was the teacher and nobody the boss, just a group coming together to create a collective energy but work individually in honesty and trust. I would love to recreate this space again and the only tools needed are commitment and the outlay of buying the book. A group no larger than 6 people work best.

If anyone has any resonance reading this either know of somewhere ideally I can rent or they feel interested in joining a group please contact me I would love to hear from you.

In the UK most high streets have Charity Shops for everything from the local hospice to the local cat’s home trying to raise money. Given the high street is dying in the UK (out of town shopping centres) these shops are keeping the high streets going.
In Spain they do not seem to popular but in Torrevieja they are on the increase.
I support my local Alzheimer Charity Shop by donating , buying and volunteering (I love re-organising the book dept) - if you are in the area (their shop is behind the main church) please call in and grab a bargain - including 3 books for 1€.
Alzeimer’s is:
“Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia, a general term for memory loss and other intellectual abilities serious enough to interfere with daily life. Alzheimer’s disease accounts for 50 to 80 percent of dementia cases. “

The stats in the USA are quite amazing see here: http://youtu.be/oF7iD0B8jWU
