Blackberry, i already have a UK blackberry which i will keep for when i go back to the uk, but will be too expensive to use all the time in spain, so am looking to get a seperate blackberry to use in spain, i wont use as a phone, so im hoping i cant get a cheap blackberry contract for just emails and internet (facebook etc), help ??

Hello.
First at all, sorry about my english, but i hopw you can understod.
So i have question about internet connections in Spain.
I live in Costa del Sol, Riviera, and i need for work good internet connection.
I dont have bank account and that ie number (dont know how to write it, but hope you cand understod what i mean.. maybe it was NIE?). Is somme way to have some connetcion? Some prepay? I was buying vodafone USB modem (59eur) + wifi router for that (29eur), 59eur including 20eur internet limit. They have some problem to activate it, so they told me to wait 4 days, then nothing, they told me again to wait… but i must to my work. So i asked them, when i add credit, can then i connect to internet - yes you can. Yesterday i buy credit, nothing, today helpline says, we cant make your credit to internet for tehnical or somthing like this reason. I dont speaks english good, so i cant exacly understod what is problem. But i cant wait anymore, i need some good connection. So maybe some ADSL offer something like i need? I stay here 1year for sure, but not intrested to doing any bank account and so on.

Hi,

I am moving to Madrid from the US for a year and so I’ve been researching different mobile phone options. I am interested in seeing what kind of experiences others have had with the various spanish service provides? Is it better to have a contract with the company or to do pay as you go? I would really appreciate any other suggestions and advice as well.

Internet speed upgrade (Telefonica)

Hi

I wonder if anyone could help me with a question about upgrading our Telefonica internet package from 1mb to 3mb. I spoke to Telefonica (1004) and they say they have arranged the upgrade, but said something about switching the box off and about 72 hours. The phone connection was so bad (also reported as a line fault!) that I’m not sure if the guy meant it would take up to 72 hours, and we had to turn off the router to pick up the upgrade, or if he meant we had to turn the box off now and leave it off for 72 hours. Has anyone else done an upgrade and knows which of these it would be? I know I could call back and ask, but the line was so bad I can’t face it, and hoped someone here might know the answer.

Thanks.
Lee

PAYG (‘prepago’) dongle for laptop

Advice and comments would be very welcome on the subject of PAYG dongle (non-contract) for PC laptop…....coming to San Pedro de Alcantara for 2 months and I need a decent internet connection for that time only. The apartment I am in has neither broadband nor wi-fi set up. ‘Prepago’ dongle the best answer? If so, who to choose and how to get through the paperwork etc?

Have read about BIMGO, SIMYO, Vodafone etc etc but still not really clearer on who to go for. Interested in good price, but also reliability. I won’t be downloading music, films, videos etc so really only need decent speed internet connection to let me surf and do emails. All thoughts and insights gratefully received!

Many thanks.

Judges have power to close ‘illegal’ websites (HIPPOCRATIC ??)

Judges have power to close ‘illegal’ websites

Spanish government now has the authority to shut down websites or blogs that it considers are flouting laws concerning copyright or that involve other illegal activities . //CUT THE BLAH BIT OUT BTW//. They claim it is to enforce copyright laws and prevent illegal downloads and child pornography . and will help again Scamer like Lotto site claming you Won money .
//END PASTE//

How can this be when a Spanish Judge recently threw out a download case and mentioned the reason being was the person was downloading ‘movies etc’ but wasn’t broadcasting to any public or making money from the downloading of-procedure…

Ok, now I’m officially lost..

I have been using a website called http://www.voipstunt.com I top up 10 euros every 3/4 months and you get 120 days free.
You get free calls for certain countrys that they have..

I have recommended this website for about 5 years now. No problems at all.

If anyone else has a better Voip site let me know
