Is this really true?  I cannot belive it (well I can, but I don’t like to point the finger.)  I know bull fighting is on the list of cruel sports, but this is beyond belief!  Likewise, I read of another ‘festival/tradition’ (sorry, don’t have the name of the town to hand), but a goat is thrown from the very high church tower annually. If it survives it is then drowned in the river.  STOP THIS MADNESS!
