Mainframe Professional With Spanish speaking skills : contract : 6weeks (extendable)

Contract : Mainframe : Spanish speaking : Near Barcelona

We are - Milestone Software Solutions, a 6 + years old company offering services in IT Consulting, Software Development, Infrastructure Support and Content Management. We are based in the UK with offices in India and Canada with a total strength of 180+ people globally (www.milestonesoftware.net ).

We have an immediate contract opportunity for "Senior Consultant" in Spain for 6 weeks (extendable). The position requires deep experience of mainframe based development and Spanish speaking skills.

Senior Consultant (near Barcelona)
Working autonomously and through a set of organized interviews with key IT managers - identify issues in the mainframe development lifecycle

Recommend best practices. In particular identify areas for improved productivity through alternative practices/processes, tools or organization.

Prepare improvement initiatives and document a phased approach, convince and obtain agreement of management

IBM Mainframe experience in: mainly COBOL, Cics, DB2

Cover entire lifecycle, Analysis to deployment and including configuration and release management

Knowledge of best practices in a maintenance setting (eg ITIL, CMM, six sigma or other)

Experience of Unix based development of Mainframe applications is an advantage.

TASKS
Phase1
Prepare Questionnaire for department heads on process and problems or sources of productivity issues
Carry out interviews and provide written feedback for validation
Provide report following interviews document in issues and opportunities for improvement.

Phase 2
Investigate more deeply particular issues and or recommendations from phase 1 in order to provide a deeper and more concrete plan on how to improve testing and development in the context if the bank.
