Hello all!

I'm an American newly married to an Irishman and we've just booked one-way tickets to Barcelona in October. We're planning to settle in somewhere around the city for about a year or so. Have been eagerly perusing the forum for tips and thought I'd say hello!

I've fantasies of settling in a picturesque village not far from Barcelona, although have yet to find out if my fantasy location exists. Would love to hear any tips or experiences that might point us in the right direction.

The region north of Barcelona heading up to French border is AWESOME with heaps of choices in terms of discovering your "magical" village. You will be overpowered by all the beauty & splender !!

Cool, thank you! I have never been up that way but am excited to explore.

Would that be a region that is along a train line? We are hoping to be a train ride away from Barcelona if possible.
