Hi I am new to this forum, we have lived in spain ten years my husband is a pensioner and now we are returning tot he UK. We have a fiscal rep who has done our tax every year, we have been residents for 10 years. We are selling our home , date for notary 5th Dec, we have just heard from our solicitor (same company as fiscal rep) that when they applied for our fiscal residents certificates for the sale the tax office has as registered as non residents, we have had to go the bank and get 4 years bank statements and a new padron, we have been told this is a common problem and not to worry.

But we cant help but worry, moving is stressful enough, will we end up with a big tax bill, even though we have declared all our income, will it end up holding up the 5th dec for completion, has anyone come across this before, any advice would be helpful thankyou

Hi Jacksan.. I would get a second opinion…

our fiscal gestor is great.. See if there is someone else in your area who can confirm what you have been told.
I know somethimes we are registered as X when we are Y to benefit us financially, but you need to get this right…

Good luck.
