Residency Visa and if an attorney is necessary

Curious to know if the non EU expats on here went through an attorney to get a residency visa for Spain
or if they did it on their own. I am thinking about getting a Retirement Visa. Thanks!!

Not strictly necessary, although there are a lot of bureaucratic hoops to be jumped through and personal visits to the nearest Spanish Embassy.

in Tennessee so hoping there may be a consullate in Atlanta.
Do you happen to know what city's embassy is the best to try for a visa?
