Hi, I’m British , resident in Spain for over 5 years now. I have a NIE N?mero de Identificaci?n de Extranjeros- or Foreigners Identification Number card) that’s expired . When it expired, I went to the police station and they gave me a green document (Residencia) which replaces my NIE. Do I have the right to Residencia permanente (permanent residency)? What are the documents needed and the process involved?
Advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Hi, my husband is also Brittish and he is trying to get that green paper that you already have. My understanding is that, as far as you have the green paper, you are ok. You are an EU citizen = You have the right to live here! The NIE number is just to “help you” with all the bureaucracy in Spain.
