Independence Day

Today is July 4th and once again, I have no plans for celebration. I shouldn't say "once again" like that because when I was young my father would ensure we were an important part of the warzone that was the main street of Columbia Falls or wherever was closest to the camp site that year.
On the weekend, Amersoc appropriated Canada's birthday, Canada Day (July 1), for their BBQ special celebrating Independence Day ahead of schedule to allow for those Americans forced to work according to Spanish schedules (which is a rather nice notion considering how many more holidays Spain has), aka, today.
I am, however, off to see the big partido tonight though, which will rock. Go Germany!
Are there any Americans doing anything special today besides World Cup action? Are we allowed fireworks?

Sorry dude, nothing interesting here, fourth of july is taking backseat to Germany vs. Italy too.

I bought some pickles and hot dogs at the grocery store... Does that count as a celebration?
Happy 4th!

Pickles and hot dogs... sounds like preparations for a BBQ! Tell me you had a BBQ just so I know someone was doing the 4th right.
It was a puta loss to the Italians, did you watch the game?

Well, not really a bbq. We don't have a grill or oven or toaster... We just microwaved the hot dogs (I know, I know - it's not even close to the same thing as grilled hot dogs and hamburgers). It was as close to home as we could get.
We did watch the soccer game while we ate :)

Haha, I think a toaster is kinda important... I'm doing a BBQ tomorrow actually, they're pretty cheap here but all coal based, no propane. Not sure how I feel about that yet, although propane is much easier to lite. In any case it's a great investment to have that touch of home and the possibility to do steaks BBQ'd instead of fried. No comparison.
