Hello all...

Don't know if anyone might know anything about this, but I thought I'd ask.

I have teaching qualifications from the states for Elementary and Special Education. As such, I was wondering if anyone knew if the TEFL people would accept those qualificaitons? Or is it possible that I might be able to teach in a school? (I only speak a little Spanish, but I'm learning).

Any help would be lovely!

THANKS!!!!

Language centers normally ask for a university degree (I don't know why), a minimum of 12 months experience and a TEFL qualification. You could get a TEFL in 4 weeks in Spain.

Anyway, have a look here: www.tefl.com and look in the 'job centre'. This should give you a good idea.

Schools? You could get a job as an 'assistant teacher', but I don't know much about this.

Hope this helps

Hi

-You could teach English as foreign language. If i were you, I would start for small language schools or some tutoring agencies.

-You could teach in a school.Try private sector and bilingual programs otherwise you would need a postgraduate (from Spain or abroad) and being practically bilingual and pass a national written test.
Good luck!

Hey guys, not sure if you've seen it but we have a whole series of articles about teaching english in Spain (http://www.spainexpat.com/spain/information/teaching_english_in_spain_warning/). If you haven't seen it yet then start there.
