Hello, I’m not an expat yet but hopefully will be soon as I’m selling my house and hope to move to Spain as soon as thats finalized.
I have six cats that I’m taking with me, Iberia say they’ll carry them in the hold but has anyone done this and can reassure me they’ll be okay?? I’ve heard the hold of an aircraft gets very cold and want them all to get there in one piece!!
Please help or reassure if you can and thank you in advance:)

Hi there!! Im moving in 5 weeks!!! Im ex cabin crew and the usual aircraft Iberia use do have pressurised holds. So the temperature and air quality is the same as the cabin. May be wise to look at possibly gettin the cats sedated for the flight?? Make it a bit easier on them?? |Best of luck!!!! x

Thanks for your reply, thats reassuring! My vet has said she’ll sedate them so hopefully all will be hassle free…
Good luck with your move.

Hello Kitty6,
Have moved my cats around plenty of times,(unfortunately), and they have always fared the flights well. If your vet is inclined to be so helpful, I am sure they will be just fine. Just a reassuring note for you, as I know what it means to love your pets. May I ask what regionm you are looking to move to? I have many resources to enable you to find what it is you are looking for in a home in the Murcia region, if I can be of assistance, let me know.

I’m glad I checked this forum. I am also about to move to Spain with my cat. Now that I am aware about the condition my beloved pet has to endure, I will bring her to the vet for some advice on how to make her trip as enjoyable as mine.

Hi Members,
My wife Pilar, a Spanish citizen from Madrid, Myself (Dennis) a retired US Navy Chief, plan to complete our retirement and settle in Spain.  We are still in the planning stage on deciding where to locate.  We have family in Madrid.  I am always looking for new ideas and people to exchange thoughts with.
