Starting Home Help business in Spain

Hi...
We have ran a successful home help business in England and following up on a program we saw on TV we feel that our service could work for ex-pat in Spain.

For example.... domestic chores such as cleaning, shopping, anything that would help people that are either temporary or generally unable to care for themselves with day to day living.

we are asking for advice on
1) whether you feel there is a market for this type of service?
2) what are the legal requirements of setting up a self employed business?
3) what are the possible pitfalls?

What we thought we might do is rent out our property in England and temporary rent a place near an expat complex and advertise our services in local English newspapers and flyers.

We realise that it may take time to establish ourselves and are prepared to give it at least six months.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

FYI, in major cities there are a lot of illegals from South America that advertise care-giving and cleaning services for very cheap (ie. 7 euro/hour). That would be some pretty intense competition, unless you rounded them up as employees (freelance of course!) and shaved a few euros off the top for your advertising services in English...

Sorry this is kinda late to the game.

Late? but forever...

I think there are different markets to target; South Americans are mostly working cleaning homes and have no other offer, If you offer is of Cleaning, Shopping and delivery, Private Driving, Homecare (Sort of nursing), Emergency number...you do have great potential

Contact Mr. de LA CUETARA at spain-usa.net so he can assist you in all your legal and Admiistrative steps....Go for it!!!!
