We have our Residencia Certificates with our current address (domicilio) on - but now we will be moving home(in the same province).

Is there a simple change of address proceedure?

Depends who you talk too.

I`ve read that people don`t bother and that you don`t need to, but the Royal Decree clearly states  that the NIE number is legally required and to obtain one and to retain its validity requires your current address of residency.

It requires another visit to either the Policia Nacional or official govt website.Probably easier to go in person.

Hi trevandbabz, did you sort out a change of address procedure? I'd be interested to know how you did it as I will be moving shortly. Thanks.

Hola sm,

In the end we did nothing and forgot all about it. We will deal with it later, should it ever crop up!

Our gestor advised it was OK to get our Residencia at our Mailboxes address, as we are renting and expect to move around a bit. In fact our lease on our mailbox is longer than the one we currently have on our villa!

The address on my NIE isn't correct and when I went for an empadron I said the address isn't where I have my property, she just asked my address and didn't say I had to change my NIE, so I just leave it as it is.
