We had been operating two Sky boxes with two different Sky subscriptions for the last two and a half years without a problem. All of a sudden they were cut off when “detected” as viewing abroad. Our account was supposedly handled through a company in San Pedro, who for the first time ever this year, passed a handling charge “unannounced” through the same Spanish credit card through which the subscriptions have always been charged. I smelled a rat and got in touch with them and they told me that they were expecting to have to change all cards this year because of Sky´s crackdown on viewing in Spain and that there would be administration charges involved. In the space of a few weeks we were cut off. When i got on to them about it they said that all they could do was to get us new cards for 350€ per card. I think that this is extortionate. Has anybody had the same problem? Could these people be creating demand from their existing customer base by getting them cut off? Does anybody know how to get replacement cards (preferably Irish cards) for a reasonable ammount?
