Help!

I need a recipe for patatas bravas for this Saturday, using ingredients that can be bought in UK.

I have tried t'internet and unless I pay or load strange software I don't seem to be able to get it.

Thanks,

Steve T

Hi Steve,
Hope this helps it's out of a Tapas Recipe book, not tried it myself so it's up to you here goes.
500g Potatoes, 3 Tomatoes, Tabasco sauce, Olive oil, Salt.
Wash the potatoes, without peeling, and boil in plenty of salted water . Once cooked, drain, peel and chop the potatoes into evenly sixed cubes.
Fry the potatoes in very hot oil until they begin to brown, then remove and place on platter.
meanwhile, chop the tomatoes and fry in a small pan with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Strain this through a sieve ans mix with a teaspoon of Tabasco to taste.
Spoon the sauce over the potatoes.
Serve hot or cold and enjoy.
hope this works out for you.
Cheers
Emma

Hi

I certainly recognize Emma's recipe but I would also like to say that patatas bravas like main dishes here in spain comes in many forms. Not only are they regional but even change from restaurant to restaurant within the same town.

This link also shows a version which is quicker and again very familiar in my part of spain.

good luck.

Thanks to Emma, the patas bravas went down a treat. I did of course claim all the credit! I have since found out that at ALDI they do a tomato pasta sauce that if you add tabasco it becomes bravas sauce without the mess!

Adios!
