Hi,

I am planning on moving to Spain next year. I am currently completing an HND qualification in Beauty Therapy and was wondering if this is a recognised or worthy qualification in Spain? If not what is the Spanish alternative awarding body? Any information on this would be helpful.

Thanks,
Laura.

Hi Laura. I work in the service industry and my company deals with many British freelance masseuses, hairdressers, manicurists, personal trainers, etc. Most just offer us their experience and their British qualifications. Of course, this only works if you freelance.

I would recommend you look up "escuelas de est?tica o belleza" and try and get in touch with some of them. There are plenty of completely British beauty centers here on the coast as well that you could get in touch with. I would recommend Reflections in Marbella for starters.

As i understand it the usual process is to get your papers translated and notarised as a true translation (you must use a registered certified translation service) then submit to the relevant college for registration,. they will then issue the appropriate certifcate (or not).
