Motor travel expenses - does anyone know the rules..?

Hi everyone

Can anyone help me with the rules on travel expenses by private car, in terms of allowances/tax (as self employed). EG in the UK I could claim a mileage rate of 40p per mile (which was supposed to cover fuel + wear and tear, hollow laughs all round). Is there an equivalent amount acceptable to the hacienda, or does it work on fuel receipts here, or... what..?

Thanks in advance,

Maya

I think that unless you have an SL company which owns the vehicle you could be in trouble with this one but ask a Spanish qualified person about this.

Good Luck.

Cheers Rob one more Q to add to the list for the accountant then! Never thought of registering the car as a company asset but I'll certainly get advice on that.

Won't be getting 14 yr old Landrover sign-written as any kind of positive promotion for my new SL though :-)
