We have received advice that Pension annuities are subjetc to very favourable taxation in Spain - however we cannot find out where we enter the information on our 2008 tax return. Can anyone help?

Hi
I suggest that whoever gave you the original advice, if the were a professional adviser, will be able to assist you.
Alternatively I know a Britich accountant in Barcelona who will complete and submit your return for 100? which is not very much is you can make significant savings compliantly. His name is Alex Martin of Martin Howard Associates.
Obviously beware of unregulated advice from other sources, it has the habit of not being true.

Yes it is true that there can be reductions in taxation on an annuity pension but it is complicated - when I went to the tax office even they struggled to sort it out - you need professional advice and lots of proof about the pension. If you are intent on doing it yourself I thin it is box 27 on the tax return form - try and use the PADRE system as it has built is help but you need Spanish!

Thanks for everyone's help. We have finally uncovered that the entry goes in box 28 of the tax form - and allows for significant reductions in tax on whole of life (pension) annuities, known as renta vitalicia in Spanish.
