Hi everyone. I hope there is someone around that can advice me in this setting

I?m am a Norwegian citizen living in the US that are being moved to Spain next year. Norway is part of EU?s inner market and Schengen so it?s no issue for me at all

However. I would like to bring my boyfriend along. So the issue is how to get a work visa for him, and how that will work for a gay couple

He?s Taiwanese and Indonesian citizen, but not US

We are discussing if this will go easy as long as we do a California domestic partner-ship (US has no federal domestic partnership for gay couples), and if he then easily can come along when I transplant

Or
If it is easier for him to apply for a visa and have us getting married in Span

Or
If we need to get a partnership and have me more, establish my address and residency before we can apply for family re-union or whatever it is called in Spain.

Does anyone has any good ideas on how to go about with this?

I think your best bet is trying to get married/civil union agreement in Norway if thats possible. As far as i know the california domestic partnership will not be recognised internationally as it is only a state agreement and not federal as you mentioned.

Alternatively, as you also mentioned, the other option is for his to get a seperate visa to enter Spain and then get married here.
