Hi, we are possibly moving to Barcelona from Brooklyn, NY in the fall, my husband got a job teaching, pay around 43,000E, we have twins, 2 yrs old, I at the moment will not be working (hopefully at some point). Do you think we could survive with this salary? We will be renting a 3 bedroom apt, around 1100 a month? Hopefully??? We have 2 med. dogs, no car at this point, will need the basics to live (cell phones, internet, etc)

Any help is welcome...thanks, Kirsten

Keep your fingers crossed that they pay him that, does seem high for Spain, teaching is a low paid job in Spain compared to other EU countries.

I'm the skeptic as my company in Spain offered me 35,000 Euros per annum with on target bonus, I rarely earned more than 1,200 a month, the Spanish people doin the same job had never got near earning that money per annum.

When approached with documents etc, company simply stated I either put up or leave.

Labour laws in Spain are poor and the legal system is slow.

Barcelona is an expensive place and you'll need to budget carefully on that income per annum, its possible but not if your a spender.
