Hi, My wife and I are going to visit the Huelva area and
wondered if there are any expats in the area who can tell us what the
area is like to live in.
Is there a large or small expat community
Which part of the area do the expats normally live around
Which area is considered the ?Holiday City? so we can stay away from there
Are there and expat community clubs we might visit

Any help would be very much appreciated
Thanx in advance

Hello,

I have lived in Huelva capital for the past 4 years (with my Spanish husband). In terms of the expact community here in Huelva capital...it is pretty small. You wont really find people speaking English here. Although there is a large RASMUS community (university students). I am sure there are some expats but I haven't really tried very hard to discover it.

If you aren't speaking about the capital, I can tell you that Ayamonte has a large UK expat community. I am not sure about specific groups or places for expats to meet and greet but the town is crawling with expats. :)

Hope that helps.

Hi. I lived in huelva for a year as a student in 1997! I loved it for the fact that it was so Spanish with hardly any expats. 15years later and now with a husband and two young boys, I would love to return to the city. We are probably looking at me teaching at a school where the boys could go and my hubby staying at home... Two questions really; I'm now a primary teacher and would love to know if there are any job opportunities in that area....also, what's the cost of living ie could we survive on one wage? Thank you x
:)

Hi Se?orat,

Huelva probably has changed a fair bit since 2007 but I still get the feeling that the expats keep to themselves and prefer to blend in with the Spaniards.

I am not sure about job opportunities for primary teachers, but in terms of the cost of living it is quite low. This depends on your budget and life style but I do not see a problem with living off one income. :)

All the best!
