Hi there,

This is my first post.

I am soon to be an Spain-expat living in the Valencia area with my girlfriend.  We are currently living in Denmark which is over all filthy expensive.  One large filling at the dentist office here, with anesthesia and 1 picture costs about 300 euros.  Comparing that to my home country Iceland, known for it’s high rates(before the crash),  then danish rates are about 3 times more expensive.

You who have been to the dentist in Spain, or know something about dentist rates, could you name the prices for typical procedures and maybe even recommend a good dentist anywhere in the region where we will be living.

all the best

Hi there and welcome.

I cannot tell you what the rate is exactly for that procedure, but from my experience, all the work I have had done here in Barcelona is about equal to prices in the U.S.  Everyone here has healthcare covered at least by the seguridad social if they do not have private insurance, but none of that covers dental.

Hello

I live in a small town in Andalucia.  Our local dentist charges 40 euros for a clean, polish and check-up, and I once had a filling replaced which also cost 40 euros.

My husband had a complete new bridge fitted for all his top front teeth, seven or eight sessions altogether, and the total cost was 3,400 euros.

I think you will find it is considerably cheaper than northern Europe but the dentists are equally well qualified.
