Hi I am not sure if this is in the right section but I am looking for a web designer in Mazarron, Murcia and also I need to find an office to rent, ideally with services. I would prefer a local web designer and must be professional, unfortunately one I was hiring was trying to design my site on microsoft word.
If anyone has any contacts or can recommend anyone I would appreciate it.
Thanks
Kyle

Hi Kyle,
May I ask why you’re looking for one only locally?

Hi There
Reason is that I would like someone that I know I can see whenever I need updates and initially the site is probably not going to be an ‘off the shelf’ type of design so I would need to sit down with the designer and go through what I need.

I would suggest you look for a web designer online.
You’ll get a better choice and competitive pricing. If you need any help with this let me know and I’ll be able to give you some tips and advice. It would be helpful also if you give some idea as to what kind of site you are looking for or even better, surf the net and pick out websites that appeal to you and best resemble what you’re looking for.

PM me if interested.

Hi Kyle,

Richard at http://www.mods-net.com/ designed our site http://www.citibox.es and has maintained it and completely revised it on two seperate occasions and I still don’t think we’ve even spent ?1,000 in 24 months.  He is in Almer?a province close to Albox which can’t be more than 40 minutes from you.

When I started looking for a website designer the initial cost was over ?3,000 elswhere for a professional site or ?250 for something done by people who had no idea what they were doing, our initial cost was around ?400.  Richard set up this “feeder” site http://www.courier-spain.co.uk for me for around ?130.

If you are selling over the web, seriously consider him.  We get around 15 foreigners and 5 Spanish order per week direct from us rather than go to one of our offices resulting in around 100 parcels a week from the web (but then we have a cracking good product!).

Best of luck.

Edmund

Edmund - you’re getting a steal. Those are ridiculously low prices. I hope Richard sees the value in what he’s providing and gets a chance to make a decent living. 😊 I might have to hire him myself!

I say that as an industry professional having worked with over 30 freelance/contract designers and developers over the years.

I’ve just sent a huge reply and it has all been lost on pressing the “send” button.

I spend many hours a week trying to push our site gently and Richard is an integral part.  The whole site is very complex and needs “tweeking” when we see a fault come through - Richard does this straight away.  He is also reponsible for a lot of the design (even if he contracts it out) but, above all, we work together to get what we want - be it the tickertape news on the screen or (his idea) the changing photos down the side of the pages.  More importantly, clients started to put stupid valuations for their parcels so in 24 hours he incorporated an additional insurance premium.

I would happily pay double and I always pay in advance, what this guy needs is a business manager.  Maybe you can help him?  I’m sure he can help you, when he puts his mind to a problem he solves it.  There has to be a middle way between the people that charge too much and the people who can’t deliver.

Maybe I have just increased my costs but as long as I deal with people who treat me fairly I have no problems paying a fair rate.

I agree and believe that Edmund is getting a real deal on his web design and maintenance. I managed to do most of my own site myself with minimal input from the pros and it still cost me just under 1000.

It’s a great looking site Edmund and looks like your designer is underpricing himself. Like you, when I initiated the idea of a website, I was even quoted as much as 10,000 so I just jumped in the deep end and learnt html;php code and graphic design techniques using Adobe.

Hell, I’m even tempted to get in touch with him, a very clean design indeed.

For office rental, I would recommend the Executive Centre, which offers a wide range of offices worldwide. You can check there. http://executivecentre.com.cn/
