Importing clothes to sell in Spain!

Hi,

I want to open a shop in barcelona selling baby and children clothes. I am thinking about importing the goods from the UK. What are the rules behind this? Am I able to just buy the clothes items and import them to Spain with no taxes etc... or do I need to pay everytime I import goods over here!!!

Any advice would be great. Thanks,

Hi Andy,

You dont have to pay customs since you will buy from another EU country. However i suggest you check the VAT (IVA) implications, you may need to register as an "Operador intracomunitario" otherwise you may not be able to recover the VAT paid in the UK.

Hi, you can buy the clothes in UK with no VAt , but the you have to declare to spanish customs the spanish vat.
I have 30,000 pieces of childrens clothing for sale in Alicante for 1 euro a piece. PM me.
