Hi - I am an asset manager and have access to bank credit rating reports. If anyone wants to known the financial strength of their bank please feel free to post the bank name. I will use my access to the credit agencies and post the rating guide.

No catches!!

kind regards Graham

Are there any 'safe' banks at the moment?! And are you really going to get a good deal putting money in a bank? All they do is invest our money while it's on deposit and make themselves a fortune!

Very true, banks take the money that was placed on deposit, giving you a fractional interest rate, but then lend, using your money as collateral many times the value of your deposit, leveraging up their balance sheet and at exorbitant interest rates.. Are any banks safe? Balance sheets are still stretched.. look into buying gold... it is a real asset that will keep pace with inflation over the long term

Know what's even better than gold? Stocks in gold companies. :)

ha!! someone knows their onions!!! p.a. I have a small amount of precious metal tracker which is 75% gold 25% silver - only problem is that gold usually strengthens when USD weakens which from EUR or GBP base ain't good.... Blackrock Gold and General is a good unitised way of playing it, as is a more feisty Craton capital. For the really brave Herencia resources at 3.75p... Yikes!!!
