Spanish Passport for Foreigners

HI

I am getting married to a Spaniard later this year. We both live in Belgium, but I have South African nationality and my fiance Spanish.

I know that I have to stay at least 1 year in Spain before I can get Spanish nationality, but my question is: Can I can a Spanish passport without the Spanish nationality? I know I will get work permits and residence permits to stay in the EU, but can I also get a Spanish passport? We will probably stay in Belgium for a few years before moving to Spain.
