Hi - wonder if anybody can give any advice. I am in the process of exchanging a UK driving licence to a spanish one. Trafico at Alicante say they wrote to DVLA on 15th March - it is now beginning of May and I have heard nothing - rung DVLA who seem to know nothing about this request - although I can't get through to speak to the correct department. The problem I have is I have the little green receipt from Trafico but have a long holiday booked for 2 months at the end of May and was hoping from beginning of March it would have been enough time to get the licence changed as the photocard has now expired - hence the change of licence. Has anybody got any ideas about which department to contact or is there any way I can get something from Trafico which makes me legal to go on our tour. I am getting very very worried about the legalities here. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thank you. Maggs in Spain.

OK here is a reply which might make sense - why did Traffico need to contact DVLC? Normally it is a straight forward swop - ask Traffico exactly what they are needing to issue you a licence. Are you doing iy yourself or through a gestoria? Suggest you go yourself (with a translator if required) and take everything and sort it out - Alicante are used to dealing with Brits - they've seen enough including me.
This might help as well
