Best way to start a career in Business Intelligence?

Bachelor in Comp. Science, Master in Marketing - 2 yrs experience in IT Sales.
Interested in switching career to Business Intelligence - may I know the best way to start please ? I have been trying to gather information online - guess I am getting confused :-(. Need Help Please !!

Hello, my very simple idea is to go to a consulting company or a market research company. You can work there first, then start your own when the timing is right. Not sure whether I get you right.
