Hi,
I don’t know if anyone can give me some advice regarding the following situation?
Some friends have found themselves in a terrible position through no fault of their own.
A couple of years ago, they bought a “Cortijo” in the Parque National in Andalusia. The house was built about 5 years ago.
They have just found out that it is not a house, but actually a “Nave” or agricultural building that they aren’t allowed to live in. The Junta have also told them that it may have to be demolished, and they could face a large fine.

They had no idea it wasn’t a registered house when they purchased it as their “legal representative” told them everything was legal.

All their money is tied up in the house, and they can’t afford expensive legal costs. Is there anything they can do?

I suggest they denounce their legal representative at the Guardia Civil and they will need proper legal advice.

How and when the Junta told them “that it may have to be demolished, and they could face a large fine”?
I’m asking because there is a term of four years since the dwelling was finished for the Town Hall in order to start the proceedings against the owner. If you don’t receives any notice from the Town Hall during this time they can’t act against you.
