Hello everyone,

I am new here and I was wondering if anyone can enlighten me with my predicament.  I am planning to study in Spain for 3 or 4 years.  I am one of those few countries that can qualify to become a resident (obtaining a Spanish passport) after two years of legal residence.  However, I am not sure whether this is extended through the use of student visa. 

I understand that a student visa residence might be different with work permit residence or something to that effect that can qualify for a permanent resident.  Any links or reading materials will be appreciated.
