Buenos dias!

I am a student in Barcelona, from Russia, which is not in a European Union, and I have already obtained my N.I.E. that permits me to come back to Spain without Visa.

However, could you, please, answer me if it is possible for me to enter the European Union, for example, through Italy with my spanish N.I.E.? I am not sure, because what?s written on different sites and forums it that I have to be a resident in Spain. And that?s what I don’t understand.

My primer visa was of type D, and my current N.I.E. is valid until the september 2009.

Thank You!

I would be very surprised if having a Spanish NIE number entitles you to enter any EU country, it is only valid for Spain and I am not sure even having that entitles you to come and go without visas, look here:

VISAS INFORMATION

LEGAL STATUS OF NON-EU CITIZENS IN SPAIN

Download, Open with Adobe

but good luck!

If you dont have residency, NIE is useless in what you are intented to do. It wont work unless you have either visa or card of the resident.
