I have been made redundant by my employer and am Pregnant with the baby due (find if its a boy or girl Mon!!!) July. Im looking to find out what benefits or any I can claim or any 1 off payments paid out?

Im in need of advice as my employer isnt great for info.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Hi there Hayley,

I’m in the same situation as you…..well not pregnant, but unemployed and in Barcelona!

Well I was paying desempleo for 10 months and I went to the INEM and I have to work for 2 more months to claim any unemployment benefit. I was offered an ayuda of 433 euros a month for a maximum of 6 months however this will cancel all your desempleo contributions. When you give birth you will get a payment from the Spanish government of 1400 euros….I don’t know if you plan to give birth in Spain?

I hope all goes well for you and I suggest that you go to the INEM and see what they can offer you.

Mucha suerte.

Hey ya Helen,

Thanks for the reply

Yeah im planning to give birth here in july, do u no who i would need to speak to regarding the 1400 i would get for once i have the baby or do they give me this information once i have her.

Do u no anything about pregnancy rights im intitled to here?

I havnt actually worked here for 12 months its only 11 months and 2 weeks so i was made redundant just before the 2 weeks which is bit of a downfull as could really do with unemployment benefits to support myself and our baby.

Really appreciate your help!

Thanks

Hayley

If I were you, get to the INEM and claim the ayuda…...it’s not much but it’s 433? a month better than nothing. I’ve not claimed it as I want to claim paro, so I’m looking to get a crappy job for 2 months and maybe go on the paro depending on my situation.

Regarding the ayuda for newborn children, http://www.parabebes.com/ayudas-economicas-familia.html It’s 2500euros! I think it has to be done via seguridad social but thie link has more info.

Good luck and if you need any more help, just ask or pm.
