Hi Everyone

I’m new to this website but have been living in Spain since 2004. Does anyone know of a good telephone/internet company on the Costa Blanca (Alicante). I’m with Telefonica but would like to change. I’ve heard Ono are good but unfortunately they have not reached my area. Has anyone used Telitec?

Thanks for any information.

Best wishes.

Thanks for reply Jurdyr. I’m 5km from Alicante City. I’m looking for an alternative as Telefonica are very expensive and, because I spend a good deal of time in the UK, I’m paying monthly for a service which I probably use for 6 months of the year.

I am using a mobile phone for my phonecalls and a Vodafone USB dongle (3G) with prepay system for my internet.  As I am not living in Spain yet, I have the same problem and don’t want to pay montly for a service I only use from time to time.

Thanks for replies. Will look into Jazztel again. I was put off by a friend who uses them and has a lot of problems with the service. I guess it’s down to luck as up until now Telefonica have been Ace, but I know a mountain of people who have nothing but problems. The same with Wanadoo and Ono - some people are lucky and some aren’t. My main concern now is cost. I live permanently in Spain but work in the UK for 6-7 weeks at a time and I begrudge paying Telefonica’s 80+ Euros a month for a service I only use when I’m in Spain. Even having a cheaper internet package would be a help. Will keep looking 😖

What’s included in your ?80/month package? That seems very expensive. Perhaps you can cut out some of the stuff you don’t need to reduce the cost.

I think E80 is the 10 meg adsl package - so you can definitely get the price down if you are not actually getting 10 meg (and I am yet to find anyone who is!!)

30 years in telecom - 7 years of those here in Spain and happy to help with any question. My speciality is arguing with Telef?nica on behalf of all those that have been abused. Their chairman is in court at the moment facing a four year jail sentence and IMHO he is one of the more ethical members of their staff.

If it gets too specific the mods may get upset so feel free to PM me etc

There are now some great mobile deals. You can save a fortune by changing from PAYG and/or contract to low cost no contract services which are ideal for those not here 24/7/365
