I am in a similar position - arrived in Spain in January, and conducting the same work as I was in the UK, as location isn’t important for the work - so its far pleasanter to live somewhere you love instead! If you will need to do some face to face meetings don’t forget to budget for that, as it sounds like your flights home will be costlier than mine.
