Hi. New to the forum, but not new to hoop jumping! Does anyone know if the ‘3 months’ of residency to apply for a residency cert has to be continuous? I’ll try to make my explanation as simple as possible. My wife is a UK citizen, I’m Canadian. I’ve read all the advice on getting her residency cert first, then applying for mine on the back of hers with marriage cert, etc. Problem is, I have the opportunity to work at an International School, and will need to hit the ground running/working. If she needs to live in Spain for 3 months, then apply for her residence cert, then I need to apply for mine as her spouse (which it is said takes up to 3 months), one can see the problem with starting work (as a non-EU cit) right away. We have a holiday home in Spain, and spend a lot of time there (but not 3 months in total worth of holidays in a year). Any advice?

They don’t ask you to prove you have been here 3months - if you apply they assume you have and want residency so they will process you providing you have the application form, passport etc etc.

see this:
N.I.E. (EX14) / RESIDENCIA (EX16)

Application Forms and the
Regulations Governing EU citizens in Spain document.

For forms - Click: Modelos de Solictudes

and you must learn Tolerance for ambiguity - it helps in Spain!
