I currently live in Italy, but am planning to move to Spain and eventually buy a business. However, before I commit that sort of effort and money,I would prefer to live there in Espana to get a “lay of the land” perspective, say, for a year. Here in Italy I have managed to get by giving private English lessons and working flea markets, illegally, as getting a permit through the Italian bureaucracy is an endeavor that Macchiavelli would find challenging. I would like to engage in these activities in Spain ,until I decide to buy a business.I know it’s possible to teach English there through schools, but it’s not very lucrative.Do you need any kind of Permit or License to sell at a Flea Market? What are the requirements to get a permit if indeed ,one exists? Are they given to expats with an EU passport or only to Spanish nationals?A woman who lived in Spain told me you have to get an OK from the ayuntamiento of the town you are going to sell at.According to her, provided one was a legal resident ,some towns would grant permission, others would deny them with some “gameplaying” involved, just like in Italy! Any info is appreciated .Thank you.
