I wonder if anyone can clarify the no smoking laws in Spain. While on holiday recently in Mallorca I saw at least two people smoking inside a cafe and at the hotel I was staying at they told me it was permitted in the hotel bar. Are these ‘local’ rules? They are certainly very different to the UK’s attitudes.

Thanks,

Hi Kieth

“No Smoking Laws” its a simple case of if the place has a permit / licence for them to smoke in.
It all depends of the Size of the premises and ventaltion. If you see a sign that says “Fuma Permite Aqui” it means the town hall has given the premises the ok for smoking.

Thats the Case In Catalonia and Galicia were I work and live

It maybe different to other parts of Spain..
