I am new on here so be gentle.

However I did join to get some debate and feedback how some of you feel about video and multimedia to promote and sell your property.

When we developed our site we did in such a way that everty property page could take a video as I personally believe that will be the future.

So for those of you who visit websites to look at property would a good video of a property make a difference in your decision making or not.

At the moment the major problem is cost in that to do a professional video that can me marketed around the globe costs 300 euros or more and in a depressed market not many vendors are going to pay that.  Hopefully in time we can get the cost down.

Also we would love to hear from anyone that used to do videos ie weddings etc who might be interested in filming houses and properties for us.

Any feedback and comments would be most welcome.

Thanks

Nick

Whilst I think videos can be really helpful, a very clear floorplan and high-quality photos of each and every room along with outside shots from all angles can be just as effective. If I am looking at buying a house, I’ll look at the floorplan and then the photos to see how each room fits into the entire flat/house.

Hi Nick

I have started using video much more recently and totally concur with you. It is interesting to see the comment about floor plans though as I had never really thought that was a major issue.
First suggestion would be to get a Mac as making video with it is so much easier. I do videos about life and culture in Valencia too to give a background for people coming over and mix in a few property videos. If you go on YouTube for Valprop you can find some examples. Constructive comments welcome.

My only thing about shooting the video is that its shot in HD because that is where all the new technology is heading, however I am not an IT or film person.  To be fair its pretty easy to get floor plans on new developments but a lot more difficutl when it comes to resales.

Our partner agent stops as far north in Denia, basically we cover on the groung to speak Sotogrande to Denia but are looking to find quality agents to work with in other areas.  If you would be interested in making your services available to film houses drop me a pm and perhaps we could put your details up on our site or blog.

Ideally by the start of 2011 we would like to have 1000 well priced properties with videos.

Hi Nick

Interesting. I am just using a Nikon and Mac software for editing. The quality could be better but by using the imovie programme with stills it is made to look very good.
Floorplans are defititely an issue with resales!
Always interested in talking about collaborations of course so drop me a line

Lack of creativity. Photos tell the story simply by existing, but video means you need to be a bit more interesting. Do you use music or sound? Do you speak while you show the property? Do you have a voice-over? Do you walk-through or do you spin around in each room, and how fast do you move? There?s more thought that goes into video, and that can be intimidating.
