Hi and Hola,

I am new here and already have a question 😉)))

I have to move to the Alicante Area for approx 3-4 months at the end of this month (from Barcelona) and wonder if somebody can point me in the right direction with my questions.

Since I never been to this area before I can hardly say if I should settle in Alicante or more in the javea/denia area!
I have a car and am therefore kind of flexible.

For language improvement reasons I would like to share a place but a reasonable flat would be ok aswell
I am also looking for recommendations for a spanish language school and gymnasio, reasonable hotel to stay for the first days etc.
(in return I can help you with webpage related questions..)

I appreciate any response
Karsten

Hi.I live in Alicante capital. Depending on the reason of your move you might decide for Alicante or somewhere else

these are ‘hostal’ but are very central:

Hostal Catalu?a http://www.trivago.es/alicante-32040/hotel/cataluna-86851
Hostal Galicia http://www.hotelesyapartamentos.com/empresas/hostales/1051/

No idea about prices. You should ring them up to find out ... but don’t know if anybody speaks English.

Hi,

if you are looking for a flat for a longer term, you should check ads on the Alicante University page:

http://www.ua.es/oia/es/bolsa.htm

There is a list of private flats that you can rent, in various suburbs. The price of a flat should be about 500 euros per months, while a single room costs from 150 to 250 euros per month.

You can also check other pages for hotels and hostals:

http://www.hostallamilagrosa.com

Welcome to Costa Blanca

Kyero.com is also good for lets.

We are in Javea and we love it, but it depends on what you are looking for in terms of lifestyle as a city like Alicante would be very different,

ok quick update - thanks everybody for replying to my answer!
I settled for javea, mainly because it is really beautiful especially the puerto area!
Didnt like alicante much (coming from barcelona I found it rather ugly - sorry )
