I am planning on moving to Spain next year but am undecided about whether to study in Barcelona or Spain. Your opinions will be much helpful!

I am a 26 year old female living in Melbourne, Australia. I am planning on studying Visual arts in Spain. I will also be learning Spanish when i get there. I love the hot whether but also like the beach. I like to go out occasionally to the night club and have fun, but especially love meeting new people. Can anyone give me their opinions on either cities please?

They say that Barcelona is the “arty” city of the two. The nearest beach to madrid is about 4,5 hours away. There are more place to go out in madrid than you can throw a stick at, although the same can be said of barcelona.  Madrid is slightly more expensive. The catalans arent big on castellano…

If you like the sea, then Barcelona is ideal. And it has an impressive tradition of visual art (Miro, Picasso, Gaudi etc).
Madrid is a great city but I vote for Barcelona!
