My husband, my daughter, dogs and myself would love to move to Murcia.  We have been looking at properties on the internet and found one that we are really interested in.  The problem is that my husband and possibly myself will need to look for job vacancies in the surrounding area of Mazarron.  My husband is 55 and is currently a Critical Care Outreach Nurse (specialising in Coronary Care and ITU nursing since 1972).  I am 45 and a Secretary for Education & Training at a local hospital.  Would anyone have further information in obtaining details for current job vacanies in these area’s?  In addition we would also need to look for a good state school for our daughter who is eight (and the important half) years of age.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there, jobs in Spain are currently rather hard to come by. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it’s not easy out here at the moment for many expats and as a result quite a number have had to return to the UK. However, you and your husband seem to have the type of positions which could arise here, in the hospitals, health centres and schools. If you both wish to continue with your current careers then it would be an idea to gather the names of all the educational establishments and hospitals or private health centres in the Murcia region and apply to them all one by one. Do you speak Spanish as that would clearly be a huge advantage. Have you also considered setting up your own business here or has that not crossed your mind? That seems to be a favourable oprion for many expats looking for work….Good luck with your search.

I found this website for you with some hospital names and contact details on: http://www.viva-murcia.com/hospitals_c104.php  Good luck!
