Hi , I am 24 , just moved to San Sebastain 3 months ago, and i had a job in a design studio, then i got laid off last thursday. An i only have a week to get home, but i have had a lot of tax deductions from my pay, I am wondering if i can claim any tax back. I have a copy of my contract that i can show you, it is in Spanish, and i dont fully understand it! (stupid i know!!)

Any advice about lawyers or anything , places to go people to ask, would be really really appreciated.

Im really hoping for some back , as i need the money to get myself home !!

Thanks

Jamie

I’m pretty sure you won’t be able to get anything back until next year when the 2010 annual tax returns are done.  It is impossible to know what you will earn during the rest of the year to be able to determine that you have overpaid tax so far during the year.  Next year you can do a return for the whole of 2010 and if there is tax due back to you you will get it.
