Hello everyone!

I’m currently in Spain and have worked at a few language academies for the past year (without papers).  One of my academies would like to help me get a work visa for next year, but they do not know the how the process works.

I’ve done research online and understand that my employers must petition permission for me to work through the Oficina de Extranjer?a (in Madrid at Calle Serrano 69).  My question is: does my employer have to set up an appointment and bring all the needed paperwork themselves or can I submit everything for them?  The Oficina de Extranjer?a is such a nightmare.  I’m afraid if my employers have to go there themselves my visa will never happen.

I’ve been to the office twice now, and I now have an appointment for Wednesday morning to get more information.  I’m not completely convinced that I will receive all the needed information the first time I go there.  I’ve got my ticket to go back to the States in two weeks so I would like to get the ball rolling before I go.

I’ve read that my employers must offer me full time work for a minimum of 10 months.  I’ve also read that there is a way around this when making the work contract.  What kind of work contract should we make?  What should the conditions be?  If anybody who has had experience with this process could give me some advice, it would be much appreciated.  I know I’ve got an uphill battle with the Spanish government but I’m going to try to do all that I can in order to make this happen.  Thanks in advance!!!
