Hello!

I’m applying for a work visa and had a question about the degree transcripts/certifications with seal of “convalidation” needed.  This is the description of things I will need that I’ve read on this website.  On the form that I got at the Oficina de la Extranjer?a it says, “Titulaci?n homologada o acreditaci?n de capacitaci?n para el ejercicio de las profesi?n del trabajador, cuando proceda.”  I interpret the last part to mean “if applicable.”

Does that mean I don’t need to submit this with my application?  I am an English teacher and an academy is applying for the visa (at least permission so I can apply for the visa).  Should I submit an official transcript or copy of my Bachelor’s degree?  Do I need to get “convalidation” from the Spanish Ministry of Education?  At present I am in Spain but I leave for the US on Monday.

to have your transcript and diploma officially accredited, just get certified true copies of the original.
as the usa is a signatory of the hague convention, you have to have the apostille attached to them. try googling apostille + the state you got them.
then you have them translated into spanish. ask the spanish consulate if they offer this service, if not, ask them for a list of certified translators.
then download the forms

submit them either at the spanish embassy or the ministry of education in madrid.
when you get the credencial. your degree is officially accredited. (homologado)
regarding your chances of getting a residence permit thru your language school application, if one unemployed (legal resident, spaniard or eu citizen) asks for a job as an english teacher in the inem, your language school application for a residence /work permit for you as a teacher is will be denied.

So, just to clarify, do I accredit just my transcript, my diploma, or both?  When you say I need “certified copies of the original” does that mean I need to order official transcripts from my university and then bring them to the embassy for translation and certification?  Can i certify a copy of my diploma?  (Do I even need to do this?)

if you want your degree to be accredited, you have to submit both the transcript and diploma
if you have originals, you can have them photocopied or you can apply for extra copies so you still have the originals.
the school, not you, will certify they are true copies
