Hi,

I spent 3 years working in Dubai and my ds was born there. He had a fantastic nursery teacher who was from the Philippines. She has a current working Visa for Dubai and her job is entirely legal and registered with the relevant authorities. We became good friends.

I have been living in Spain now for 2.5 years and have Enpadronmiento, together with a job (all legal with affliacion and social sec paid) with a Spanish company.

My friend would love to come to Spain and I would like to help her. She will probably live with me. In fact, I note that there are now hundreds, if not thousands of Filipinos working in and around Marbella, so it must be possible, but how?

Can anyone please advise on how I can get my friend over here? I have been searching on the internet and it all seems so complicated…all I need is to help her get here.

Many thanks.

guapita,
right now, getting her a working resident visa as a nanny to work in spain is practically impossible.
the only jobs she can be hired for and the corresponding provinces are listed in the quarterly catalogue of jobs that are difficult to cover.
https://www.redtrabaja.es/es/portaltrabaja/resources/pdf/dificil_cobertura/CatalogoOcupacionesDificilCobertura.pdf
she may be able to come as a tourist or a student.
as a tourist some other countries in the schengen area of the eu may be easier to enter than spain.

Hi Aritz,

Thanks for your info. I think I already read somewhere about Filipinos coming to Spain on a student Visa…which is of course temporary.

What I really don’t understand is why they are not allowed in to Spain (and other EU countries) very easily? Perhaps my political knowledge is lacking here, but surely if my friend has a job to go to which is legal, her employer (i.e. me) could prove all personal papers are legal and up to date, so where is the problem? It is a completely different situation were she to attempt to enter Spain without a job or contact details etc etc.

Anyway, once again, many thanks for your input.

hi guapita,
there are 4 million registered unemployed in spain.
the government is trying to get this people hired that is why they are not letting foreign workers in unless they are eu citizens or family or the job is for any of those in the quarterly catalogue.
a student can get a working resident permit after three years, if he or she can get a job offer.
an ovestaying alien can also avail of a working resident permit if she/he has been in spain for three years, after meeting some other requirements.
