Hey there. New to the forum, but have lurked a while.

My wife and I taught english in spain last school year, and are doing so again this year. Our assignment this time is to a different town from last time. Our NIE’s have expired and we need to get new ones, but the only office we know of is in Santander, an hour away by train.

I’m wondering if there’s a resource online that lists the offices where we can get the NIE taken care of. Or, if there isn’t a single site where they are listed, then what on earth I should google for! I cannot remember, for the life of me, what the correct name of the office in Santander is called!

I don’t think NIE numbers expire although you will have to change your address on the foreigners’ register…usually at your local (national) police station

No NIE numbers never expire - they are allocated for life like a UK NI number - unfortunately some people talk about NIE when they mean residencia - and again under certain qualifying conditions they don’t now expire either.

Suggest you visit your local office ( you can always ask at your local town hall) and get what you need.

This might help as well

N.I.E. (EX14) / RESIDENCIA (EX16)

Of course the card does, but that is not an NIE.
