I have been working for an international company here in Spain for the last 5 years. Now it is time for me to move again. I have a Spanish Pension with Santander and I want to move it to my UK one. I am told that this pension cannot be moved out of Spain! I ask to cash this pension, pay Spanish taxes etc. I cannot do that either! I am just told in the usual professional way that I have to return when I am 67 to cash!!!
Does anyone know anything different? surely there must be provisions in the EU (Spain is a member I think!) for international professionals like myself working around the EU?
Appreciate some guidance. Thanks

Its easy, just contact the national insurance in UK and they act as your initial agent in setting up payments. After that you have to certify each year 1st qtr that you are alive.

I only just found out the latter when they suspended my payments. The spanish dont volunteer info easily.
