Me and my wife are currently in the process of selling our house in the U.K. and despite trips over to Spain (the Almeria/Murcia area) We can’t decide where would be best to live for the kids. We have a boy and girl ages 5 and 7. My wife has a job starting near Vera Playa and we dont want a big commute.

Ideally a town where there are some english but not too many as we dont want to live in an english bubble but by the same stretch we dont want to be totally isolated either.

We have looked at Vera, Arboleas, Zurgena and Huercal Overa aswell as Urcal. Any more info on these or surrounding areas would be super duper.

We live in Carboneras with our 2 children aged 7 and 10.  We find this area superb and it is VERY spainish but you dont have to go far to find some brit company.  The schools are superb and you are on the sea.  As for commuting it will take you 25-30 mins to get to vera playa.

I dont work at the moment but my wife is working in Mojacar.  Finding work, unless its peak season and you work in a bar, is very difficult.  I am a truck driver and work stops in July and August so Im hoping to find something after then.
